Dear friends and neighbours,
My name is Lanny Ferreira, and York South—Weston is my home. I went to high school here, I live here and I chose to raise my family here because I care deeply about this community. For close to 20 years, I’ve been an advocate and leader fighting for positive change, and I look forward to continuing my service to York South—Weston as TDSB Trustee for Ward 6.
Parents and students in this community deserve a school system that delivers the best for them and their families. We want schools that focus on the health and wellness of students and staff. We want schools that receive equitable funding and keep class sizes low. We need investments to upgrade crumbling infrastructure and maintain a healthy learning environment.
As the Constituency Assistant for Member of Provincial Parliament Faisal Hassan, I have worked with community members to solve issues and address local concerns.
As the President of the local chapter of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, I’ve led efforts to support vulnerable members of our community and combat food insecurity being experienced in our neighbourhoods.
As the Co-founder of the Keelesdale Neighbourhood Group, I’ve organized the community in support of local clean-up efforts and pushed for public accountability on the rebuilding of York Memorial Collegiate Institute.
